I’ve read two of three thrillers by Australian writer Jaye Ford and found them to be edge-of-the-seat reads – fast-paced and action-packed. I picked up the just-released Already Dead last night and before I knew it, I was half-way through. It definitely moves at a fast pace! This one is needling me a little ore because it deals with an issue I’m familiar with and at times, it felt a little close to the bone. Five years ago, I would have set it aside, but I’m in a different place now. This is the teaser used by publisher, Random House.
Miranda shrank away from him, arm pressed to the driver’s door. ‘What’s your name?’
‘I’m already dead. That’s my name now. That’s what they called me. I’m Already Dead.’
And here’s another one:
And without thinking about who he was and what he wanted, Jax mouthed two words across the space between them: Help me.
Here’s the blurb:
Journalist Miranda Jack is finally attempting to move on from the death of her husband by relocating up the coast with her young daughter, Zoe. Then a single event changes everything. On a Monday afternoon as she waits at traffic lights, a stranger jumps into her car and points a gun at her chest. Forced to drive at high speed up the motorway, Miranda listens to the frantic, paranoid rants of Brendan Walsh, a man who claims he’s being chased and that they’re both now running for their lives. Two hours later her ordeal is over in the most shocking fashion. Miranda is safe but she can’t simply walk away – not without knowing the truth about that terrifying drive. As a journalist Miranda has always asked questions. But this time the questions are dangerous – and the answers might get her killed.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I can see you’re already enjoying it! A brilliant read and one which I could barely put down.
I think I’d need to read a little bit more but it certainly sounds like something I’d enjoy. Here is my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/09/02/teaser-tuesday-september-2/

This one sounds really good! Great teasers, adding to my TBR. Thanks!
I like the sound of that book! The teasers combined with synopsis has made me add it to my wishlist. Here’s my TT.
Definitely something I’d like to read and the cover art is superb.
Here is mine from the Apex Predator series – http://fuonlyknew.com/2014/09/02/teaser-tuesdays-79-an-apex-predator-novel-shark-station-nyet-by-carolyn-mccray/

Great teaser! makes me curious enough to browse about it 😉
That sounds really good. Love your teasers. This week, my teasers are from Jackaby by William Ritter which comes out later this month in the States.
That sounds breath takingly suspenseful.
Mine is from a novella by Tolstoy. http://wp.me/pZnGI-ci
Your Teasers grabbed me, and the synopsis made me even more interested. This sounds like a can’t-put-down story that I’d enjoy.
My Tuesday post features The Gods of Second Chances.
This sounds really good! When I saw the coverart I thought it was Les Mis for a moment but this sounds more interesting. Sometimes I wish books wouldn’t be such quick reads, but then I have to plod through slow-paced books and I just want it to be over! Thanks for sharing 🙂 hope you have a great week!

Ooh Already Dead sounds interesting. I particularly like the second teaser. I’m going to add this to my TBR list I think. Here’s mine: http://deweygirl.co.uk/2014/09/teaser-tuesday-greywalker/
This one seems a little weird for me, but I hope you enjoy it!
My Teaser.
Intriguing teasers! Since mystery and suspense are my favorite genres, I will add this to my TBR. My teaser is for a cozy mystery, A Little Night Murder, here.
