Peaches for Monsieur Le Curé by Joanne Harris – book video trailer

Chocolat by Joanne Harris is one of my favourite books: it’s sensual, seductive and tantalising, first to my thoughts and then to my palate. If I was having dinner with a bunch of book characters, Vianne would be at my table, sharing her truffles, mendiants and hot chocolate with a pinch of chilli  … sometimes I wonder what she would choose as my “favourite”.

I’ve since read The Girl With No Shadow; set in Paris, Vianne has lost her “colour” and is haunted by memories and fear. Again, a great book, one that I’ve read twice and will read again. So when I was offered the third book in the Chocolat series, Peaches for Monsieur le Cure, I did not hesitate. As my son would say, “Hell yeah!”

Harris is appearing at the Brisbane Writers’ Festival next month so I’ll be uploading my review to coincide with that. In the meantime, here’s a trailer about the book … will you be reading it? Or getting out Chocolat again?
