Midweek Moment #33: Peace comes in different forms

Writing and domestic life has overshadowed photography this week, so both Louise and I dipped into our archives. Without even trying, we’ve both managed to select pictures that reflect peace. Perhaps that’s because we are both reaching for this in our own way – peace in our heart, in our world.

Midweek

After a coffee date with one of my sons, who is going through a hard time at the moment, I was reminded of a day when he was really happy and at peace. He sat with this kangaroo at a nature park for more than an hour. The two just chilled together. It was beautiful to see and a moment I will always remember.

Louise has been in re-write mode for a while. With only about 3,600 words of her novel, Ida’s Children, left to rewrite, it’s been her primary focus this week. Consequently, she’s barely left the house, and hasn’t had time to get out with her camera.

She found the photo below, which she took a year ago. It’s of the frangipani tree in her front garden, taken at dusk with the moon in the background. It’s another image of peace and I love the colours.

Once a week, Louise (of Louise Allan: Life From the Attic) and I team up to share creative photos on our websites. It’s all part of our challenge to stretch ourselves creatively.
