Peace and healing … that’s what our two very different images have in common this week.
Much is said about the healing effects of salt water. These days I rarely do more than dip my feet into the water, but two weeks ago I was encouraged to swim in an ocean pool. After the first few cold shivers, I let myself sink into the water and started to swim. The water felt soft on my skin. My worries floated away. And I soon found that I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to enjoy the feel of the water, the sound of the waves, the cry of the circling seagulls for as long as I could, because I knew that once I left the water, the worries of life would creep back in.
Today I wish I was back in that pool, just for a top up of that peace and healing! And I wish I had some of the energy of that water! Click on the photo for a close up of the drips.
Louise chose her photo for Midweek Moment for no reason other than she thought it was pretty. She loved the colour of these mauve flowers from the next-door neighbour’s hedge (plumbago?), took a few photos in vivo, then cut some flowers to bring inside and photograph some more.
This photo speaks to me of softness and peace, of calm and tranquility. The colour is beautiful and relaxes me just to look at it.

Once a week, Louise (of Louise Allan: Life From the Attic) and I team up to share creative photos on our websites. It’s all part of our challenge to stretch ourselves creatively.

Plumbago, that’s it! Love your ocean this week Monique-there’s something thrilling about it. It’s amazing how a scene can have action and excitement, yet peace at the same time.
