AUSSIES – HAVE YOU GOT THE WRITE STUFF?

NEWS: Want to be part of a summer anthology of travel-themed short stories from 35 of the hottest writers in Australian women’s fiction, including Sydney authors Lisa Heidke and Nicola Moriarty? You have about two weeks to get writing!

Lisa and Nicola are offering local aspiring romantic comedy writers (Australian residents) the chance to have their work published Sunlounger, a new anthology packed as full as your holiday suitcase of summer-themed short stories.

To take part, all you have to is submit a summer-themed story of 1,000-5,000 words, set in an exotic or holiday destination outside the UK. What better way to escape from this wintry weather than by writing a story that takes the author and the reader to a far-flung destination full of romance and adventure?

As well as seeing their work published in Sunlounger, the top prize winner will also have the opportunity to consult with a renowned literary agent and win some deluxe travel goodies.

This is a unique chance for first-time authors to have their work published and seen by thousands of readers around the world, as well as influential editors, publishers and agents. Amongst the authors featured will be Chrissie Manby, Margaret James, Kate Harrison and Trisha Ashley.

Sunlounger is presented by the Belinda Jones Travel Club, which is the Facebook page for Belinda Jones, best-selling author of 10 vacation-for-the-price-of-a-paperback novels and one travel memoir, On the Road to Mr.
Right – which made the Sunday Times Top 10 list alongside her hero Bill Bryson – all of which transport the reader to whatever location her heroine is visiting, with their descriptive prose.

The deadline for entries is March 31, 2013 and the anthology will be published on July 1, 2013.
