I took my camera to work earlier this week with the intention of taking photos of a grand piano a kind benefactor donated. I did take photos but I’ll share them another time. This little hoverfly was checking out a flower patch in the garden at work and he kindly hovered around while I snapped away.
The ‘things with wings’ theme (purely coincidental) continues with Louise’s photo. She took advantage of school finishing to retreat down south for some much-needed writing time. There’s no internet or mobile access, which she’s finding is a blessing – there’s nothing to ‘ping’ or ‘ring’, which means she can concentrate better. The Australian bush is not without its own distractions, and she has photographed one of the noisiest: a Carnaby’s cockatoo, who was chortling rather noisily outside her window.

Once a week, Louise (of Louise Allan: Life From the Attic) and I team up to share creative photos on our websites. It’s all part of our challenge to stretch ourselves creatively.
