HECTIC BUT HAPPY

It’s been a hectic week, what with birthdays and interstate visitors, but a good week nonetheless. Right now I am feeling a bit sorry for myself because I wound up with a stitch and a tetanus shot after sticking a knife into my pinky! It’s making typing a little difficult, so please forgive any typos. Oh, you want to know how and why I stuck a knife into my little finger? Simple answer: cutting fruit too fast. Blue Eyes wants to get me a metal glove now, but I feel my typing would suffer even more so.

I’ve just finished reading the gripping What Remains by Denise Leith; a review will be posted in the next day or two. It’s certainly a thought-provoking read. Now I am onto Lone Wolf, the latest Jodi Picoult novel, which explores the topical idea of organ donation.

My desk is groaning under a growing pile of review books, which might daunt some, but excites me. I look forward to more books arriving in the post and always feel a second of sadness when there are no new ones. Then I give myself a firm kick because of that shameful “first world problem”. Blue Eyes laughs when he sees me taking photos of them for this blog and Write Note Reviews (the website is looking great and I’m having a lot of fun with it).

I’m also about to receive the young adults’ Hero trilogy in the post, having won it from Good Reading Magazine today – thank you to the magazine for drawing my name out of the hat.

This week I’ve been writing articles for my freelance gigs and researching an article on community theatre. It’s all happening.

So, what are you reading at the moment? Anything you’d recommend?
