TEASER TUESDAY: THURSDAY'S CHILDREN BY NICCI FRENCH

‘But look at the situation. The girl won’t go to the police because she thinks that they, like her own mother, won’t believe her, and my experience tells me she may be right.’ (Thursday’s Children by Nicci French, p67)

I’ve read a few Nicci French books and enjoyed them, so I’m looking forward to reading this next one. I do enjoy police procedurals. However, with a huge to-review pile and lots going on in my work/home life, it will be a while before I can get to it. Here’s the blurb:

Book Cover: Thursday's ChildrenWhen psychotherapist Frieda Klein left the sleepy Suffolk coastal town in which she grew up, she never intended to return.  Left behind were friends, family, lives and loves but alongside them, painful memories; a past she wouldn’t allow to destroy her. Then, years later, an old classmate appears in London, asking Frieda to help her teenage daughter, and long-buried memories resurface.  Death soon follows, leaving Frieda no choice but to return home to confront her past.  And the monsters no one else believed were real … Through a fog of conflicting accounts, hidden agendas and questionable alibis, Frieda can trust no one as she tries to piece together the shocking truth, past and present.  Before another innocent dies. When it comes to psychological suspense, there’s none better than Nicci French.  And Thursday’s Children is Nicci French at her very best.

Sound like something you’d read? What do you think of the cover? I like it.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  1. This is on my wishlist. I haven’t read anything by Nicci French for quite a while. I think it’s time I changed that.
