Midweek Moment #27

Birds of a feather flock together … Louise and I have not known each other for a long time, as far as years and months go, but there’s something about her that makes me feel like I’ve known her for ever. She reminded me yesterday that we’ve been sharing our Midweek Moments for more than six months now and I thought, ‘Is that all?’ Louise, thank you for encouraging me to do this, and for being you.

Midweek

Walking along the beach earlier in the week I was captivated by the light; all around a golden glow, shimmering and warming. The water was cool on my toes, the sand spongy underfoot. Kite surfers seized the remainder of the day, leaping through the air, slicing through the pond-like waters on the other side of the point. And this little guy watched me, with curiosity and an innate wariness.

Louise was also captivated by birds this week. While walking her dogs, the antics of a small flock of willy wagtails caught her eye. They darted from tree-to-tree—not away, but following. This wagtail, in particular, was playful, and kept hopping along the fence posts, happily posing for the hundred or so pictures Louise took. See the glint in its eye? Louise is positive it was enjoying every minute of its teasing game.

Once a week, Louise (of Louise Allan: Life From the Attic) and I team up to share creative photos on our websites. It’s all part of our challenge to stretch ourselves creatively.

  1. Thanks so much, Monique! I love this little project of ours, even though it’s sometimes a mad panic to find a photo! We both know it stretches us and helps us notice the little details, but it has so many other nice offshoots, including that we’ve been able to get to know each other better. I look forward to reading your stories and being friends for many more years! Thanks for joining in with me. x
