I wonder if the images we’ve chosen this week say anything about how Louise and I are feeling. For my part, I do feel a bit like a delicate flower this week.
It’s easy to take photos of flower when they are at their best. This flower reminds me of how we, as a society, tend to idolise youth and beauty, whatever that means to us. We overlook the ageing and the aged. This flower, a gerbera, has a beauty of its own, even though the young, soft petals have since dropped to the ground.
Louise was captivated by the dandelion below and the way it reminded her of her childhood: the joy of blowing the seeds, and the disappointment when they were all gone.

Once a week, Louise (of Louise Allan: Life From the Attic) and I team up to share creative photos on our websites. It’s all part of our challenge to stretch ourselves creatively.
