TEASER TUESDAY: WILD WOOD BY POSIE GRAEME EVANS

If you’re a lover of dual time/narrative novels with plenty of intrigue, you won’t want to miss this upcoming release from Posie Graeme Evans.  I’m sharing two teasers – one from each viewpoint. Note: Both teasers come from an ARC of Wild Wood, not the final copy.Wild WoodBayard’s view:

I twisted, too slow, and we saw each other clear as the face of Christ. This was the man from the fort; bristles sprouted in a circle where hair had been scraped away at the top of his skull. A monk had tried to kill me. (p24)

Jesse’s view:

This place. How can she have drawn it? The fear she denied when she first saw the tower, standing alone at the top of the hill seeps back. What does it mean? What does any of this mean? (p110)

Here’s the blurb:

Jesse Marley calls herself a realist; she’s all about the here and now. But in the month before Prince Charles and Lady Diana’s wedding in 1981, all her certainties are blown aside by events she cannot control. First she finds out she’s adopted. Then she’s run down by a motorbike. In a London hospital, temporarily unable to speak, she uses her left hand to write. But Jesse’s right-handed. And as if her fingers have a will of their own, she begins to draw places she’s never seen, people from another time—a castle, a man in medieval armour. And a woman’s face …

What do you think? You’ll have to wait till April for this one, but it’ll be worth it! My review is coming soon, and as part of a blog tour there will also be a guest post from Posie Graeme Evans about research. ♦♦♦ Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following: • Grab your current read • Open to a random page • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
